"Got back to Duesseldorf from Loohorst at 1030 Monday after some diversions and a stau which resulted in a ""short cut"" via Neuss.Stuart Allen was dropped off at the station and will hopefully get back to Guernsey without the problems he had getting to the reunion. Thanks to everyone for making it a very special and fun weekend and hope you all get back safe. Steve"

"Hello fellow reunionites... Got home in one piece minus a few brain cells and liver abuse! What can i say.. what a rollercoaster of emotions! Laughed till i cried, cried for the sorry state of our beloved school. Otherwise an absolute blast. Thank you EVERYONE for being there and sharing what i would call the reunion of a life time. Too many special thanks to be handed out, but you know who you are and the reasons being. Reunions might be for a weekend, but memories last a life time. Had only about 12 hours sleep since Thurs morn, but soooo worth it...so time to crash out! keep checking back for updates and pics, but please bear with us while we get our brains back to normality! Had to have an Apfel korn in my glass just to top up the incahol/blood ratio when i got in.... Thanks again to you all, it's been an absolute pleasure!! Hope you all got home safe... Huge hugs all round...In a bite.. Caz xxxx "

Subject: REUNION 3

Hello all
What a trip. Back in work today! It all feels rather difficult. Had a meeting at 10. My contribution was very minimal. Thanks to everyone for such a great time. The school trip was hugely emotional to me. Made me realise that my school days did exist and that all my fiends from the time existed too. Made me realise how much emotion i've been carrying round. You have a huge circle of really important people in your life that you're suddenly removed from and you never had the chance to say goodbye. All of them live in different places so there's no way of maintaining all the friendships. So you start again but it's hard because most fiendships have already been established through school.
Guess what I'm trying to say is that the trip helped me start to deal with some ghosts.
Thanks to you all for making it so much fun!! Thanks to the committee for all the work organising the reunion and particular thanks to Gerrie and Caz! for keeping us in line and on schedule.
Looking forward to seeing the videos and pictures and 2010 here we come!

"Got back safe and sound at about 3.00 am! Lost the car in the car park at Stansted, I was sure it was parked in N but it turned up in H. A few panicky phone calls to Nick, too late he'd left but thank you for the moral support Nick. Thanks to Ian for putting up with me for most of the weekend, thanks to Lyzz and Andy for making the villa an oasis of sanity amid the chaos, thanks Julie and Nickie for being Mum - this list is never going to finish, so thank you everyone for a brilliant weekend. Everything is aching including my fingers so will have to go (probably back to bed)but would like to say thank you last but most definately not least to Colin, Gerrie and Caz for the time and effort made to give us all the wonderful weekend we've had, and to Des for letting us invade his house and garden - the barbie was delish. When's the next party!!!!!!!
Ali"

"Hello everyone, thanks for a fab weekend and for the committee who organised the whole thing. Very emotional for me visiting the school, seeing Des and going back to Weeze where Andy and I lived as a married couple with kids. Journey home was pretty much as bad as the journedy to Loohorst - we had a puncture so had to drive most of the way through Belgium, France and all the way home with a skinny tyre doing 50mph!!!!! Could quite easily have thrown the alarm clock out the window today - absolutely knackered so for the next reunion I'll have to bring my zimmer frame! Great to meet some new friends even if you were at the previous 2 reunions, I was obviously too drunk to remember you. Ali it was a pleasure sharing the ""cottage"" with you and hope to see you at the next event..... Nickie and Julie - you kept us laughing so much - thank you for that. Will try and email my photos and the video of the ""School's Out"" Singalong soon. Hope everyone recovers really soon and gets practicing for the next one.

Have fun - Liz and Andy xxx"

Subject: An absolutely fabulous weekend

"Arrived home about an hour ago safe and sound athough still weaving about with the ferry and i'm pooped.
I just wanted to say a huge thankyou to EVERYONE that made the weekend happen, some very poignant statements have already been made to which I share totally. Scmed, the locked rooms inside my head of emotions and feelings from my school years are on their way to being liberated.

I'll never forget the silence on the bus as we drove past the old school on the autobahn and cought our first glimpses of the place.... im sure we all felt the same way.

Ali, your company was great, I think we supported each other very well ...thanx , (well lets face it we could hardly stand up....lol).

The company was second to none, I haven't laughed so bad that it really hurt for a long long time..... Thanx to you all!!
I could go on forever.. now for some serious detox....

Whatever we do, wherever we are lets stay together!

"Got home at about 1am - the first hour of the journey spent constantly wondering if I should turn round and help Ali look for her car - sorry I was so quick off the mark Ali, but glad it turned out OK.
As for the reunion - what can I say? The school was very emotional, I think we all agree on that. I have demons and ghosts too and maybe some of them are starting to fade.
When I came to the first reunion, I had been completely divorced from the Forces life for 16 years as my dad retired at the same time I left home so I never went back to anywhere. I spent most of those 16 years thinking I was a bit odd (no comments please) as nobody seemed to see life in the same way I did. The first ReU made me realise that it hadn't all been a dream, it really had happened and there were people out there like me (again, no comments please). That feeling has only grown stronger with each reunion and the bond I feel with you guys is one of the strongest types I know. Whenever the next proper ReU is and wherever, nothing could ever keep me away. Thank you all for this time, the times before and the many times to come. Any other parties going, just drop me a line!"

"Arrived back in Guernsey at about 2130 good to be home. Thanks you guys fro a good weekend. Thanks to Steve for the lift to Duss and to the lads for the pick-up and the Indian. What a weekend, what a laugh. I did not really know antbody at what was my 2nd reunion but left after making good friends. Sunday was a fantastic day and the memory will stay with me forever. I have ordered 200 litres of non drip white paint for the naked paint balling and the Royal Marines have been put on stand-by. A dozen spoons are being delivered for the next bash and my kidneys are soaking in a glass of fresh water. Once again, thanks guys for a great weekend."

"Eventually returned home at about 21hrs last night after a detor via Amsterdam. On the detox and looking forward to waking up without a hangover. Think that my voice is still trapped in one of the cellars after screaming. Great to see you all again and thanks for all the laughs, hugs and tears. Sadly there was not enough time to fit everything in - it was bad enough trying to find time to eat! Thanks Caz for the amazing cakes... and I hope to treat you to one of my cakes in the not too distant future. xxx "
