Kent School Association

I've been looking at Google Earth, and typed in Hostert, which brought up some amazing aerial views of Kent School. The Old farm house/barn/maths block and metal works blocks have been demolished. Nevertheless...the views brought back a whole load of memories. I also typed in Wildenrath and was able to see our old quarter (in Beaver Close 1971-1973), and our flat before that in Lutticher Strasse, Geilenkirchen (1971). If anyone hasn't already looked, have a go on Google Earth...it's fab !!!

Yes I've seen them too.Still quite recognisable after all these years though although no longer in use as anything much. When I went looking for our old quarter in Beckstrasse Geilenkirchen, well Teveren Fliegerhorst actually, I found it all digitised out. Presumably because it is a NATO AWACS base full of Americans?

I've been trying to find Geilenkirchen School (RAF) on Google Earth, but can't seem to find it. I've forgotten how we got there on the bus/ All I remember is that we turned right from the flats and drove down what seemed like a long road, towards the NAAFI area. Can anyone help ?

If you find Geilenkirchen, follow the road which heads west towards Teveren village. It curves around the south side of Teveren and ends up at Neuteveren. That is where RAF Geilenkirchen used to be. If you zoom in, all the area around the Airbase becomes digitised out although the runway is still discernable. I dont think you will be able to see the school though.

try putting this into ur browser. Looks as is the school has been demolished
