Subject: New photo's, current state of Kent School!

On the website www.urbanadventures.eu you can find new photo's of the Kent School in 2009 and the current status of the buildings.
Would love to hear what you think of them!
Greetings Raymond

Hi Raymond, Can only say well done, excellent work all round. A pity I only have partial memory of the interior, as I left early in 1965 and am sure some photos are in other tracts of the building. I am sure many Kenties will visit your website with great interest.

I left in 1982.Sad to see the state of the buildings now. It does allow for some beautiful photography though. Especially all those stained glass windows which we had never seen before as we never went in the chapel. And I like the shots across some of the rooftops. Well done

Fantastic work - and so there is a link on our beloved website now. Don't mind saying I felt tearful seeing how wretched the old girl looks these days ....

same here colin ... it just doesn't seem right - we all know what is going to happen next - then it will be gone forever and we will all just have our memories ..

That is the point, Sarah - Material will decay and fall apart, and memories remain - your Kent-Era. Now is one of the last chances to capture your visions in an album, hopefully being lucky enough to have some photos of your time there; be it 1963, 1975, the 80ties or even those dismal ones of 2009. You alone can create your own "History-Book of Kent" .. the best (School)Days of my Life.

Thanks Hans - my parents do not have any photographs of that time, they've said they are trying to forget - I was born in the building during 1960! I don't know what they mean - and you can shut your face Weller!

Dave, the 60ties. I don't even have many photos of that time. Some of Malta, back to UK and Lunerkamp,Essen, Germany 10-11 yrs. One as a 4 year-old by the River Weser in Hameln, two or three in Berlin, none of Helmstedt, one of my first School day in Brunswick 54 or 55. In all really only a shoebox with a few photos, some of Krefeld none of Catterick Camp, North Riding or or Lytchett in Dorset. And, of course a few of Dad as a soldier at work (LAD REME)Helmstedt and Berlin.
There is only one way to find answers to questions - do it the way I was taught (even at schools after Kent) ASK. It is your right to to know why someone tries to forget. Confrontation is better than avoiding answers, even if the words may hurt, you will at least know the WHY!
Perhaps your Grandparents have a photo of the Maternity Ward, a usual place to find things... That was apparently still operating during my Kent Time 63 - 65 or, perhaps, parents of your School friends of your time. Hope to have been a little help.
Greets Jürgen.

Hi Tony, I've registered at Facebook under my full German name without Cilvert, seen the friends areas of eg. Maureen Robertson, Sarah, Dave and yourself. To see the Videos I beleive I'll have to take the friends contact/add to friends - that seems the way facebook works. Am I right?
There's nothing really to remark about myself. The pic is in Birmingham 2007 at the NEC Arena Taekwondo World Champs where I helped a friend out as an interpreter.
Hope Colin isn't thinking they're all off to facebook, because that is not so.
Best wishes Jürgen

Colin should be registered on Facebook as well so don't worry. He'll not take offence and knows we still keep coming back 'home' to see what is going on in the world of ex Kenties.

Hi Raymond - have only just had chance to look through the photos and it's the first time some old photos have moved me. I could just picture myself running up & down the stairs to English. Thanks for posting the link, really enjoyed them. xx
