Hi Maureen, that is the hope I have, but remember the phrase "curiosity killed the cat". You mention trouble for leaving bags unattended. In the early days we didn't have the problem of kids nicking things from others; I was one of the 6 prefects at the time and we knew practically everyone and their belongings. Anyone caught sniffling in a schoolbag had some explaining to do. But I cannot recall ever having caught anyone. Generally the schoolbags were to be kept in the classroom and not the cloakroom. And these were only frequented by staff or prefects on routine control rounds. Litterlouts and the occasional scrap was the routine, which once brought me a black eye breaking up a fight. Wonderful memories.

Have deleted those entries - and I'll update the code so that it traps this kind of spam as well. There's already a load of traps in the guestbook and messageboard code to stop this stuff but I'll continue to make changes.

Guest code has now been updated to trap these things before they get to arrive in the guest book. The "old" version of the guestbook - not used for years now but still existing on the website - still attracts "visitors" of the spammy kind. It peaked in early 2007 with over 100 trapped "visitors" each day. There are still half a dozen visitors daily to that page.

I guess they've found this one now. The joys of being a webmaster!
