Subject: PAUL LLOYD Hi everyone, just been told about this web site by kevin McGhee, and I am hooked, would love to hear from people. I was at Kent from 1973 to 1977, I was very wild in those days, always up to mischief, and appearing outside the offices of Mr Wilson, Mr Lackleson and co all the time. I do have some great memories from my time there, and would to get in touch with anyone who knew me. I was living at Wildenrath. Cheers Paul

Subject: RE: PAUL LLOYD Hi Paul, We don't know each other but have a common sports teacher - Mr. Lacklison. I talked to him a while ago and he mentioned you as a good all rounder rugby etc. So you see he remembers well. I was there 10 years earlier. But of luck finding people you recall. Jürgen

Subject: RE: PAUL LLOYD Paul, I see you were at Wildenrath. I'm not sure whether a certain Miriam Sayers still weht to Kent in 73 but I was visiting friends in Wildenrath in late 69. Her brother Steven (my age group and a good friend) was in my class in 63. He had a band in UK, Lazy Bones, and did some gigs in Wildenrath and Düsseldorf in the 70ties. Have you heard the name before and perhaps where they could be? Rhyslip was Steve's last address but he was living relatiives - lost the address. His parents and family were still in Wildenrath. Thanks for any info. Best of Luck Jürgen Jürgen

Subject: RE: PAUL LLOYD Hi Paul, I was also in Canterbury, the house that seemed to do rather well in sports(we had the Hensman,Potter and Newland brothers so it wasn't really fair on the others). I remember you, Ian Hensman and Steve Long from the Canterbury year above me.I lived in Wildenrath and at school, used to hang around with Kurt Hoyte, you once made fun of me for missing a conversion(it was a long one!).Not surprised that you had a pro career in a sport as you were one of the best all-round sportsmen I met in my schooldays,Steve Wilson and Andy White being the other two that were both fast and good at the team sports too.

Subject: RE: PAUL LLOYD Hi Steve, I remember Andy White he and I played up front for the school team, he was fast like me, and we caused merry hell against other teams, he set up a lot of my goals, he was a very skillful player, I was just speed, brute force and goal scorer, but like I say he had the skill. I used to hang around with Steve Long a right character, very clever at Science etc. I still make a living out of rugby check out www.worldsubbuteorugby.co.uk or ebay where my user name is lloydie1109 Where abouts are you based now ? I am in Sheffield, been here quite a few years now after time in Lytham St Annes and Devon. At Wildenrath I used to hang around with Willy Venus, The Brownlie brothers, Paul Swarbrick, Guy Rump, Tim Evans amongst others. I used to play football for the youth club, but rugby for Bruggen youth club. Also played footy for a local side in Arsbeck. Other names I recall are Kev McGhee who put me in touch with this site, Andy Ferguson, Mike Henderson, Neil Mason, Mark Harding, Scott Partridge, Mandy Braid, Vicky Glenn, Nicky Gist, amongst others. I lived in canberra Cresent at Wildenrath, where abouts where you there.

Subject: RE: PAUL LLOYD Hi Paul, Your name rings a bell. I was on Wildenrath and lived on Canberra cres second to last house before the school. I had long blonde hair and was very bashful easily blushed (the bain of my life). I lived there from 75-78, was in Maidstone 3MS,4MB and 5MW. Were you in my year at school? I knew Jacqui Brownley and yes she had two brothers. They lived on the first close off to the right at the bottom of our road.My other mate Sue Hall lived in the road behind them ,the other side of the woods also Jamie Cullington lived up there (both my age).Paul Swarbrick lived on the road opposite before Canberra and was a year younger than me. Steve Gould lived opposite me on canberra.Other folk were: Trevor and Andrea Haye(both older)Liz Chamberlain(older and lived on my side in the first houses)Tracy Connor,Ray McVeigh all lived bedhind my side of the road.I also was friends with Tracy and Karen Smith in the street leading upto Pauls. Mates with Carole Hunter who lived opposite the Hostel/ hairdressers where most folk caught the school buses from. I went to the Club at the bottom of the street where Youth club was in. The youth club had a huge Murial painted in the disco room- a huge jungle scene. There were other rooms consisting of table Tennis/ Band practice(of which Ray,Jamie And Trevor or Greg played in), aseating and food area.THe Youth club was opposite the Snoopy Club(Policemans Club).I did have some friends in Wildenrath Village (can't remember their names) and in Asbach:-Julia and Joe Lynch(again both older and they also had a younger brother maybe 2 or 3 years younger than me) I remember going to the camp Pool and swigging wine(Tut! Tut!)Could only get wine off my rashion card.Bought Albums and singles from the Naafi, played the juke box in the airmens club across the road and remeber going to the Cinema. Oh I also remember Neil Viney(a lanky lad in my year and lived near me).I too remember going to get the post and mail order goods from the Mally Club. My Dad worked behind the Naafi incharge of the Stores and next to the Bowling Alley. At School I remember selling in the tuck shop near the Main entrance and Church, SMILEY FACES and Ices. These were very popular particulary the Red/ Black smiley Faces.I also recall the Maths block behind the Science block. Where were the Music Rooms? I belive that we had a Female head teacher who loved to wear two piece tweeded suits. She was tall with Black short hair. Does anyone remember me? I knew Andy White, Neil Mason(I think he was in my Tutor group along with a Jon Powel?)Daphne Lucas and Tracy Glenn(twin of Vicky and sister of Karen and Tina) and Gail Billings were in my Tutor Form.I wander if Andy Dunlop was in my Tutor or year as his name rings a bell? I have more names : Nicky Grist, Debbie LeCarpentier, Mandy Davis,Jane Moore, Heidi Watford, my pal Karen George,Jutta Collette,Ali Cantwell,Bev Muir,Karon Mears( laughed extremely loudly)And many more.

Subject: RE: PAUL LLOYD Yes that is me, the glue was one of many things I was done for in those days, I was up to all sorts, it was a few pots of glue. I used to be in trouble all the time, and would have never made a career out of being a criminal as I was always caught. All grown up now and living in Sheffield, thanks to this site I have managed to conatct a few people from my time at Kent, which was a great time, more so on the sporting side.

Subject: RE: PAUL LLOYD Hi Angie, great to hear from you, I remember you well, along with the blush, I used to say things to you to get you going bright red, what a sod. I am currently living in Sheffield and am self employed with internet businesses, all rugby based. I have so much to thank Mr Lacleson for introducing me to rugby and teaching me so much about it. I went on to play it professionally. I did 12 years in the RAF myself, but left 15 years ago to get some roots as moving every three years eventually got to me.
I lived at 11 Canberra Cresent, and hung around with lots of kids in my years there, I played in the school football team with Andy White, we both were strikers, he was a good sillful player. Neil Mason I recall well, we had some laughs me and him, a right character.
I remember from Wildenrath the following people I hung around with, John and Billy brownlie, Willy Venus, Craig and Guy Rump, Paul Swarbrick, The Forsythe sisters, Mandy Braid, Tim Evans, Ian Donaldson, Tony Mears, and at school, Gary Coutts, Kevein McGhee, Mike Henderson, Andy Inman, Scott Partridge, Vicky Glenn, Nicky Gest, and so many more.

Subject: RE: PAUL LLOYD Hiya Paul, Jamie etc. Nice to hear from you all. Its hard trying to remember what I used to get upto in school and trying to remember teachers names and their faces. I remember Mr Maxfield who I had for Geog.....used to have a laugh in his lessons usually at the end of the week. I can obviously remember more about camp life and mates. Jamie I know you have visited my folks when you have been over from the States visiting your folks, be nice to hear from you are you still in the states? Do you still keep in touch with Ray? Didn't you both become Roadies for Quo etc upon returning to UK? Gosh I wish I had some old photos of mates on Wilders(never was one for taking photos or posing for the camera).Im still trying to contact Karen George(now Powell)who lived at Krefeld.I wander what happened to Daphne lucas? I lost touch after a year of being back in the Uk, she was still seeing Ray McVeigh. Jackie brownlie always had trouble with her Da, poor girl and I lost contact with her when I returned to the Uk too. I became a hairdresser and now also a preschool practioner, and live here in Colchester. Regards Angie

Subject: RE: PAUL LLOYD hiya guys, Just remembered some more names from Wilders and school:- Do you remember the 'Yeardleys'? Peter I think and his two sisters, skinny folk who made us envious with the amount of sweet/ chocolate snacks they could tuck away and not become fat or spotty. I think Peter used to play Guitar too and was friends with Ray? Also do you remember the Three 'Miller' girls? The oldest girl might've been Julie or Christine, then there was Suzy and younger sister Denny. They all lived near the Bus stop area and the last houses before the wood leading into the civilian quarters(Youth club etc). Was youth club Three nights a week? Tues?, Fri and Sunday? I remember your Nan Jamie. she lived in Felixstowe, and we'd call in on her when visiting Uk. lovely lady and very hospitable. best regards everyone!
