Subject: Hostert 1961

Hello

Some of the photos on the site have been a god send, so for that, thank you

My mum was born in Hostert, in 1961, i believe the building your former school was, also housed the hospital?

She was born there due to her Father serving in the military.

Does anybody have any futher photographs re: the hospital side of the building, or any information whatsoever

All i have are the photos from this site, i cant find anything else whatsoever

We went to Hostert in 2006. We went over for the world cup and made a day trip to Hostert, but due to non of us having a) a clue of the area and b)any german speaking skills, it was difficult. From you pictures, i know we definately came across the school buildings because i recognise the clock tower, but we were told by a local it was a school, so we didnt take much notice at the time. D'oh

Please feel free to reply. Email me. Or speak to me via MSN Messenger

My mum is away on holiday at the moment and i am trying to put together a bit of a portfolio of photos and stuff about the place.

Many thanks

Scott

Yeah ive seen them photographs, but there isnt any showing which part of the building were used as a hospital, i know this site is for people who went there while it was a school, but im looking for information when it was BMH Hostert, military hospital

This is the only website where i have found very many photographs, so for that i am grateful.

But any images, or information about the building while it was a hospital, would be so grateful

Please contact me via email

Hi Scott, don't think the building changed much between hospital and school....some of the pics from when we visited in 2006 show operating theatres that had hardly been touched, and I can tell you that the corridor where my form room was 1978-80 still had a sign above it saying maternity wards they are the rooms to the left of the main entrance.

Hope this helps a bit,

Happy hunting.

It would be good if you could email your photo's to our webmaster - webmaster@kent-school.co.uk - and he will arrange for them to be shown here. I was also born at BMH Hostert - some 21 years ago, in Aug 1960!

I will definitely E-Mail the photos to the webmaster. Will be back 1st June so will send them soon after that. It's really weird as I have never me anyone who's ever heard of Hostert until now, just found out that 2 guys in my office went to school there in the 70s.

Get them to join the site - you never know they might catch up with some old suspects! There are a few of us about. Have a good trip and I (we) look forward to seeing the photo's - try and get inside - Kenties would always try and go to places they are not allowed too - it's in our training!
