Subject: It's the final countdown Hi everyone,
Well - only a couple of days left before the Peru trip. I leave on Friday morning. I’m still looking to raise funds for The Fostering Network – my charity. Have a look at the following link for more information.
Here’s some info re the trip just in case my previous 95 begging emails have been deleted.
The plan is for me to complete the Inca Trail in Peru from 4th – 9th October 2008, climbing 12,000 feet, trekking through the Andes to Macchu Picchu. The aim is to raise as much as possible to support the Fostering Network's work with fostered children and young people across the UK. My wife and I are foster carers (we have a wee monster/little darling (depends on the moon cycle) with us at the moment)and the Network are a great help to all involved with Fostering in the UK, so your sponsorship will help kids in your area as well.
I am hoping that you may be able to sponsor me and although I realise you must receive many such requests during the course of a year I do hope that you will be able to help. Please dig deep and sponsor me online at http://www.justgiving.com/davidmcelhoney
About my charity : The Fostering Network The Fostering Network is the UK’s leading charity for everyone involved in fostering. We work to improve life for the 50,000 children and young people living with foster families. We provide training, advice, information and support, and make sure the views of children and young people are heard and respected throughout the care system. Our campaigns raise public awareness and ensure action at the highest levels. Charity Registration No 280852
I am not looking for a lot - a couple of pounds or a fiver will be as gratefully appreciated as the larger donations. Although I have been very fortunate indeed to have exceed my initial target of £4,000, I am looking to raise as much as possible before the trip. All monies raised go directly to the charity. I have paid for my own trip to Peru as it has always been one of the places on my ‘bucket list’ (i.e. places to see before you kick the bucket)
Come on Kenties - please help, it’s payday after all.
Best Wishes and Regards
Dave Mac

Subject: RE: Its the final countdown ... Well, about time too! Been watching your progress over the last few months and a hearty "well done" is in order, Dave. We're all rooting for you - whilst staying snug in our own homes in Blighty. Feels like you need a blog site now ...
Best of luck and safe journey!
