Subject: Reminiscing about Kent School (musically) Further to my former message...I've been thinking about the music we used to listed to at Kent, in 1971 to 1973 - Marc Bolan (still my favourite singer), Slade, David Bowie, Gilbert O'Sullivan (yes I admit it, I listened to his music),The Osmonds, New Seekers (in particular the song Beg, Steal or Borrow), Nilsson (Without You)and dare I mention his name...Gary Glitter. Outside of school I wore tank tops, those German suede, tassled boots and yellow flares. My sister used to sew a piece of material into the bottom of her flares to make them wider...remember doing that !!!! We also used to linger at the top of the large playing field, at lunch times, so that when we got to the dining hall, we always had seconds and thirds; we did the same when the lunch time bell went to commence lessons, so that we arrived in our classes later than the others (sometimes taking a detour around the school buildings). Those were the days. 01-Aug-2007 16:02:15
