I knew Rosemary Taite and her brother Mike. They lived in the house behind mine in Agrisstasse Bracht where we hung out together. I think we left in around 1973 to move to Moncengladbach. As Rose was a year or two younger than me we didn't really see a lot of each other at School. I remember her best mate at that time was Kim Pickering

Does anyone remember Rosemary Tate and Gail Meakin? They were my sister Margarets friends. We remember Susan Swain. She used to live at the back of us, in Stressaman Strasse in Krefeld. Does anyone remember the Deans. There were 3 of them. Two boys and a girl. I think the youngest son was called Wayne. Also, the Moores. There was Tony and Christopher. There was also a sister and another younger brother. Can't remember their names. The Arnolds were Terry(Tereasa)and Lisa.We used to go iceskating every Saturday without fail in the winter, and swimming to Bradbury Barracks and Bocum, with our German pals. Had great fun.

Subject: RE: Old school mate "Paddy Breden" 1976 - 1979 ish The last time I saw Paddy was when i joined the Army, I was at Aldershot(basic training) I visited Paddy during training when he lived with his parents in Slough, Bucks. That was the last I saw or heard from him. I Know his parents(Maureen, "MO" and Alan) moved to London. His Dad Alan, A master chef in the Army got a job, after his Army career, in one of the Hotel kitchens at either Heathrow or Gatwick airport. He had 2 brothers Lee and ive forgot the other and 2 sisters Adrian and forgot the other. I heard he had various jobs. A tree specialist or doctor and working for a formula one or two in the pit stops. That was a long time ago. So since then Ive been trying to find him. Maybe he doesnt want to be found. Other names from Bracht are Briony Poulson, Liz Race, Allison Whitelegge, Martine Dean, Micheala Gavaghan, Julie sawyer, Nick Roadnight and Mike Emerton.Just to mention a few.So if anybody knows of any of the above whereabouts. Please let me know. I have been in contact with a few since school, Good ol friends reunited. Thanks, Dave :-)

Hi Anne, great to hear from you. Unfortunately I don't really keep in touch with anyone from kent. I wish I had. I don't know where Angela is, but I hope that she finds this web site and gets in touch with us. Do you remember some of the girls in our group? I think there was a Susan or a Janet. She had bobbed blond hair and was quite slim. There was also Christine. She was a bit on the plump side, but was always cheery and game for a laugh. There were others, but I can't remember them yet. I didn't go on the ski-ing trip, but Kathy did. She went on about it for weeks, she also had a great time. I'll get her to put an entry on the web site soon.

i remember the schol disco's well. Does anyone remember the snowball fights on the playing fields, and the resultant afternoon in the sewing room, either because of your trousers being too wet to wear, or because they had split and had to be mended, or both. Does anyone remember the tuck shop? I don't think I ever bought anthing out of it, yet still had a good stash and change. No I didn't steal, not technically anyway, but I had freinds on the inside. There were lots of us at I can tell you. Anymore memories out there I,d love to hear them.

I have wonderful memories of the time in my life when I lived in Wildenrath & attended Kent School with my twin brother & Sister Nick & Vicky. I have been lucky enough to remain in contact with Denise Boyland and Tony Izatt. I lost contact with Penny Wicks and Derek Jezzard. I noticed that Joan Summers left a few lines here some time ago. Tony & I tried once to tack down Dave & Pete Hayes with very little success. I have a scrap book with school photos and names etc. But can't put my hand to it just now. 'Kenties' that lived in Wildenrath; Jackie Fletcher, Janice Lees, Linda Lewis, Linda & Mike Hubbard (GSO). I have tried to find Loretta Collette who had a younger sister who also went to Kent. The ole grey matter is not what it was so my memory is not brilliant. I was rather keen on sports & swimming and did both of these for the school. (I will post some photos of the Netball & Hockey team)c'69/70

Hi everyone,
Just thought I'd add a few names (teachers), I recently found an old school report that has not only jogged a few memories but also made me realise that I shouldn't be too hard on my own kids with their reports!!!
My form tutor was Mr Taylor, a very good teacher from what I can remember. The report is from Spring Term 1977 and I was in 4RT (Rochester House, Yellow).
Does anyone remember Mrs Barbara Stainsby? she taught English.
Her husband Paul Stainsby was my Maths teacher. Under the very watchful eyes of Miss/Mrs? Robinson I learnt to cook in Home Economics (in the Science block). In the same block we had the pleasure of "operating" on dead frogs and learning about Photosynthesis guided by Mr Maguire.
I was one of the first to take the "New" C.S.E in Physical Education, it meant 7 lessons of P.E. a week, (never again). I also ran for the school along with Andy White and Paul Blackhead in the 100M, 200M and 4x100M relay. One of my P.E. tutors was Mr Gibbs.
I'm sorry I don't remember alot of names but some do ring a bell.
My old man was stationed at Wegberg and we first lived in the flats at Erkelenz then we moved to a house in the village of Ellinghoven, about 2 miles away from Wegberg.
I remember swapping buses at "Queens" in Rheindalen and also going to the cinema and swimming pool in Rhein D.
I agree with you all, Kent was, out of the 12 or 13 schools I went to, the best. It is a shame that it has fallen into such a bad state of repair but the memories live on. If we all put in a Tenner we could maybe buy the the old place!
Well, that's all for now folks, don't want to bore you. If anyone from that era would like to get in touch, please feel free.
Auf Wiedersehen!

I was at Kent from when it opened in '63 until posting back to UK in Nov '65. Mr Ford was the Head, Mr Myhill the deputy, Mr J A Davies my form master. Mr Worrall taught us French and German, Mr Cork, maths. I remember the efforts we put in digging the long jump pit - probably much to the delight of Mr Lacklison! I visited Kent in 1977 when having joined the army I was serving in Germany - must have been acouple of years before it closed. Many fond memories of the old place, and after all it isn't every day you get to go to school in an old hospital. If there's anyone from my vintage out there do please get in touch.

Is it just me or is there a lack of students from '74 to77'.I must have a lousy memory as the only name i can recall is Phil Burns. I had a great time at Kent wish i was 16 again!Still we all have to grow up,get married and be miserable at some point.

Its sad I know, but I still have the Kent school blazer and tie. The tie still fits but I have to say the blazer is just a bit on the small side.
